About

My name is David Ackerman. The purpose of this site is to keep you connected with my life so we can share in the fruits God is faithfully bringing forth.

I am a 25-year-old full-time campus missionary working in the Peoria, IL area with my wife Kailee and our new baby boy Jude Shiloh. I am on staff with Chi Alpha Christian Fellowship (chialphapeoria.com) reaching college students with the good news of Jesus Christ, reconciling them back in to relationship with their Creator. We as a ministry are focused on bringing this generation back to the knowledge of God through the vehicles of prayer, worship, discipleship, fellowship, and outreach.

On July 29th, 2005, the Lord encountered me in a significant way. I was a normal American teenager who had grown up in church yet had never yielded my life to the power of the gospel of Jesus Christ. I was caught in a swirl of youthful worldly attractions but was desperately in need of a Savior to set me free from the bondage of selfishness and striving into the love of the Uncreated God. That is exactly what Jesus did. He broke me free from the power of sin and saved me by His own blood spilled out on the cross. God became a Man and died for man. After being filled with this new life and the power of the Holy Spirit now living in me, I have been burdened to see my generation meet their Maker. Oh that the earth would be filled with the knowledge of the glory of God!

While in college, I was privileged to be a part of Peoria Chi Alpha, a ministry on the Central Illinois area college campuses that is dedicated to revival among young adults in Peoria. This powerful ministry has poured in to my life by training on the need for excellence in the practical disciplines of Christianity, along with learning how to partner with the Holy Spirit to release the signs and wonders of God on the earth. I was a part of Chi Alpha for 4 years during college and graduated from Bradley University in May 2009.

I moved to IHOP-KC in July 2009 for a 6-month training internship – the One Thing Internship (OTI). In December, when the OTI track had completed, I was given the opportunity to stay on staff as a house leader for the incoming OTI Spring track. God really opened up a door for me to minister to a group of young people who were hungry for an encounter with the love of God and a burden to be raised up as forerunner messengers of Jesus’ soon return to the earth. OTI is focused on calling a generation into wholehearted pursuit of God, seeking the Lord with consecrated lives of prayer and fasting, and being equipped to minister in the power of the Holy Spirit.

I have now moved back to Peoria and I am excited to be partnering with Jesus and His purposes on the college campuses in our region. Pray for me that the Word of Lord would run swiftly and be glorified!

My heart has been made alive by the love of Jesus. My desire is to see my generation transformed by a revelation of the Creator. HE IS GOOD. HE IS KIND. HE IS JUST. HE IS KING.

David. A man of wisdom and integrity, honoring the LORD when there is no man to take into account what he offers up. He is a man of Matthew 6:3,4. He has sought after Truth in full: To the man who has been faithful with little, he will be given much.

  7. I met David at Jesus Culture, august 4th 2011 and after about an hour I was wiping tears from my eyes, celebrating the glory of Jesus… David led me to know Jesus in a way I never had… I died and was reborn a member of the family of Christ! 8-4-11
